In the writing of poetry, worthy of tribute
The most crucialistic part is the words in the poem.
Sure, rhyme, rhythm, meter, these all contribute
But if you make lousy word choices, people are going to read it and say "Who wrote this trash?" and then somebody says "GotToBTru" and then somebody says "Who's that?" and out of embarrassment they say "Don't know 'im."

Does Perl Monks have an official Poet Laureate?
We've got a section here for him, ready and warmed up.
Meanwhile, rank and file monks fill in with haiku and couplet
Waiting for a real class act to finally show up.

That's not me, I'm not a skilled nor prolific Perl Poetry contributor.
I much prefer coding, I'm not ashamed to admit it.
So it works out not to be much of a non sequitur
To say "GotToBTru. Your day job - don't quit it."

Alas! It was a dark and stormy night
When Bulwer-Lytton (not as yet a lord)
Began his nearly thirty books to write,
Convinced the pen is mightier than the sword.

And sad, too, the McArthur Wheeler case,
As he, of competence bereft, obtuse,
Prepared to rob a bank, only his face
    Disguising with unheated lemon juice.

But it’s an ill wind, so they say, that blows
No good, and Wheeler’s folly sparks ignition
Of a Cornell research idea, that goes
    On to elucidate metacognition.

    So Dunning-Kruger on incompetence,
And the great novel of beloved Snoopy,
From dark beginnings grow. And maybe, hence,
Some gem of wisdom will from musings loopy,

Wandering, and inane as these, arise
To illuminate the path of monks to come?
Till then, GotToBTru, I’ll just surmise
That you’re another fan of Ogden Nash, whose lines occasionally run on and on and on, and then some.

    By a lit'rary bug I've been bitten,
For you've conjured the great Bulwer-Lytton.
        Thro' tempestuous night
        Unrelievèd by light,
One is tempted to see how many syllables more than the verse's scansion calls for one can fit in.

    I'm not optimistic about "crucialistic",
As a word, it seems absurd,
    "istic" appended, should be apprehended,
Though i'm not the least bit offended.

It seems like its part, of your creative art,
So, regardless of my sense, it's your poetic license,
Go add those bits, what you have deemed fits,
    Or submit the parts amended.
