in reply to On my keyboard, Caps lock is:

Pried off - smartest thing I ever did.
Nothing against the key itself - it just needs to be repositioned to a location (eg the bottom drawer of my desk) where my fat fingers can't inadvertently hit it.

Cheers,
Rob

At the office, i hit it so often when i meant to hit a, that i installed autohotkey and remapped it to a. Just in case, ctrl-caps is mapped to caps lock. It works like a charm.

Now, if i could just map semi-colon to a single-quote when it's in middle of a word. :)

    "Pried off..."

On a Mac there is no need to damage the keyboard: One can simply assign "no action" to capslock in the keyboard prefs :-)

    "...my fat fingers..."

Consider a diet. Potential side effect: perhaps you can buy a Mac with the money you save - if you don't use the Lagerfeld Diet concept ;-)

It's not damage. I regard the repositioning of the Caps key to a more convenient location as nothing other than a keyboard design improvement.

That reminds me of: "The box said 'Requires Windows 95 or better'. So I installed Linux."
