in reply to How I learned Perl

My story is not so involved or interesting. I got started in 1995 with HTML, then began working with Miva, then PHP/MySQL; In 2001 I got a job working with ASP/MSSQL, got hired by the Navy as a civilian contractor where I was required to work on Suns. I loved Unix, but hated the limits of the shells. I got over my PHP bias, and tried out Perl - now that is all I care to work with. As a grad student in CS, I feel lucky that my profs allow me to turn my assignments in using Perl - in fact, they encourage language "diversity"...now if I can just figure out how to convert those stuck in MatLab limbo over to PDL ;)

I am a big Perl fan.
