A node found in a publicly accessible list:

You don't have access to that node.

Tough beans.

Why?

    in a publicly accessible list

Which list? Worst Nodes or such? Maybe these lists are not filtered for group membership of $current_user. The node you refer to is a patch for the PerlMonks engine, visible only to the pmdevils (and the gods of course, not only because they are member of pmdev).

Yep, Worst Nodes and then I wonder how it could end up there...

Well, patches aren't excempt from the quality survey mechanism of PerlMonks and occasionally get downvoted, although for other reasons than e.g. SoPW's or meditations (patching the wrong thing, introducing errors with the patch, patching based on wrong assumptions, etc). Then often a -1 is enough for them to briefly show up among the Worst Nodes.
