I have a series of disturbing confessions to make.

  1. I wear t-shirts with slogans like 'I read your email' printed across the front of them. My Resident Evil "Zombie Repellent" shirt from ThinkGeek is my favourite.
  2. I use a Mac...and love every minute of it.
  3. I think SMTP is the bees knees, and I run anti-spam systems for a living.
I do however have a few redeeming qualities. One is an enthusiasm for Perl. CPAN modules are your friend, POD makes a programmer out of every (wo)man and the things you can do with a few lines of code never cease to amaze. I'm also incredibly partial to FreeBSD, User Friendly and Ctrl + Alt + Del online comics. I live by the mantra that while(!(succeed = try())); and that one must RTFM always.

When not hunched over a keyboard, I like to read. Catch 22, Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Crime and Punishment, Atlas Shrugged, Fountainhead and so many more have kept me amused (and most importantly, quiet) for many happy hours. One of the finest literary works I have ever had the pleasure to read was a collection of essays by Oscar Wilde entitled "Intentions", in which I found this gem of a quote:

We live in the age of the overworked and under educated, in which people are so industrious as to become absolutely stupid.

...and that was written in 1891, which just goes to prove, the more things change, the more they stay the same!
