Apparently you didn't read everything you needed to know about PAR::Packer.

Impossible, they were mistaken and you took their word for it over the clearly documented advice.

If you're looking for a reliable, production worthy solution you're out of luck.

Update: there are several interested threads here on hiding the source, decompiling and reverse engineering, some of which cover Perl as well as other languages. Super Search is your friend.

    Thanks for the help.

    I have found .....forbidden.... on compiling Perl. From what I read it is not alway 100% working, a shame as it could make Perl more powerful. I tried B::CC and it doesn't accept my Perl version

    I will use super search and hopefully I will find something to hide the source, that will fit into my current workflow.

      Firstly, that's not how you link to URLs, for example [http://www.google.com|Google]. Secondly that site is an illegal* copy of the old O'Reilly CD Bookshelf. Please remove it. Some of the people here wrote those books, all be it a long time ago. Hint, check the date of your sources, it's not 1998 any more. Your references aren't current.

      There is nothing to hide your source. Again there's much previous discussion on this site, and elsewhere. Consider the alternatives.

      * Yes, I've reporeted this several times over the years, the site in question has dropped off the web at least twice and popped back up again.
