As a newcomer to this site, I can find no explanation of how to post (I tried, it doesn't show up), why posts don't show up (maybe there is moderation?), whether there is moderation, etc etc.

How about some simple instructions on how to use the site, put where it is impossible for a newcomer to have difficulty finding them, which explains how posting is done, when your post should appear, do you have to log in to post, etc.

Aside from that, this looks like one fantastic site and resource, and if there is anything I can to do help let me know; thanks mightily for your efforts.

Hey vroom, you know, this is a good point. The reason this guy couldn't find the helpful nodes is because they are buried in what looks like line noise. (And they are under "information" instead of "help") Seems to me the best place to put a "help" button/link would be way up on the top bar, to the right of "search". You definitely need a "help" button somewhere, because the nodelets are much too dense, information-wise, for a newbie to figure out what the hell is going on.

I know some people love the /. design principles, but I don't think they're working here. (What, like, 5% of the new posters figure out they can use HTML and to put their code in special tags?)

Hmmm, for XP, I should have stuck this post in the quest area. Oh well.

You can create any node as an Anonymous Monk. However you won't be able to edit it later. If you post the beginning of a discussion... ie a question, poem, piece of craft etc it will have to wait to be OK'd for the frontpage and or the section listing for that particular type of node. If you're logged in and want to see everything within a section go to your user settings node (if you're logged in) and turn show unmoderated content on. Then you'll be able to see all the posts within a given section. This won't work for the frontpage because we want to be sure we maintain a certain level of quality there. If you want to see what was most recently added go to Newest Nodes.

Also I've added the Site How To which doesn't contain all that information yet but probably soon will.
