There is enough useful software that is not yet written that no practicing programmer is in danger of running out of real work because he aggressivly uses modules from the CPAN.

We should be pushing newbies to practice making the software they do actually need to write reusable. That way, they can contribute their own modules to CPAN, while becomeing better programmers.
