PPM58 modules are not suitable for Perl 5.14. You will need to find the corresponding PPM514 modules.

    It's better if you use strawberry perl on windows and cpan/cpanm to install module.

      While I prefer Strawberry, ActiveState Perl has had the ability to install cpan modules via cpan for years. MinGW can be installed from ppm by ppm MinGW.

    Thanks for your time , i installed Strawberry perl 5.12 and i downloaded the correpsonding module for 5.12 and it installed fine..:).. A very good lesson , dont compile modules dedicated for different versions...
      I think the lesson is, if you're going to download pre-compiled modules for offline installation, download the correct ones
