Try looking at Device::Serialport. It supports serial over USB.

Search CPAN for USB. There are many hits. Device::USB, Device::USB::FAQ, USB::HID::Descriptor::Interface, et. al. James There's never enough time to do it right, but always enough time to do it over...	[reply]
