Hi Karl - They're engineering/component specifications for a bunch of different types of equipment. I'm simply parsing them for the important bits that are to be stored for future reporting needs. And for anyone else who might stumble across this, the thing that I've now learned is that I'm essentially building a "Perl factory" for different file types. A quick web search yielded a bunch of useful info. Cheers!	[reply]
