Good point. It seems that the Macro Recorder still exists, but you have to enable it explicitly. At least that's how it works for me, but $work may have fiddled with the "default" settings of Office a bit too much.

    It does not. Under the link you provide MS explains how to create and edit a macro, but not how to record one. This is a real nuisance because (at least in Excel) the Macro Recorder is the most efficient way to find out how something can be done in VBA.
