That is, if the provider of the coderef called it themselves, and it contained an eval block that trapped an error and didn't rethrow it, then they as the caller wouldn't be aware that it had happened.

So why should you need to worry about it?

Maybe they don't want or need to know if any error occurred with the eval block within the subroutine.
