      The LWP I used in my test was the one that came with my copy of 5.16.1.

      Seems weird that your copy performs differently if you have not installed anything extra?

        I installed Perl 5.16.3. I re-installed modules using the PPM Profiler. Scrolling thru PPM I don't see SSL but I do see LWP-Protocol-https. LWP is ver 6.04.
