What makes it worse is that I'm always having to switch between the machines, and the screen timeout on the useless (corporate) laptop is painfully short, and unchangeable, so I'm always having to re-enter my password to get back into the thing.

Just curious, what is that?

Some folks I knew though 15minutes was too short

15 minutes would be nice. The screen locks in five minutes of inactivity. If I'm on an online meeting and someone is screen-sharing and I'm watching along, if i don't remember to wiggle the mouse every couple of minutes, the screen locks again. Or if someone stops by my desk to ask a question, I swivel back to my monitor and have to unlock it. Five minutes is ridiculously short.
