perlhist shows that perl version 5.18 was released a few months ago and http://www.perl.org shows "Current Perl version" as 5.18.1.	[reply]

G'day stevieb, Some additional information to what ++toolic has already provided: perl - perldoc.perl.org has documentation up to, and including, 5.18.0 perl - search.cpan.org has the 5.18.1 documentation. What is the impact of 5.18.0? has a fair amount of discussion (including pros, cons, gotchas, etc.). -- Ken	[reply]

If you're being conservative, write code for Perl 5.10; I believe that's what RHEL uses. Otherwise, 5.12 is fair game.	[reply]

Now that 5.18 is out, p5p has ended everything except critical security support for 5.14.	[reply]
