for loop

perlaintdead has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I can't find the official docs for the for loop.
first i tried:

perldoc -f for

It said to try perlsys and i typed into the command line to no avail. also google'd and turned up nothing. halp!

The documentation does not say to look in `perlsys` but in `perlsyn` (http://perldoc.perl.org/perlsyn.html#For-Loops): `> perldoc -f for for foreach unless until while These flow-control keywords are documented in "Compound Statements" in perlsyn.` [download]	[reply] [d/l] [select]

Those docs actually didn't answer my question. Was looking for putting the block before the flow-construct.	[reply]
