Well,
silimonk my guess as to why there are many anonymous users here is due to the possible following reasons:
- Perhaps they don't have enough time to hang out in the monastery, etc.
- Maybe they just want to ask questions and get answers, and skip the "community" part.
- And finally, maybe they just don't consider being part of this community worth much (it's just a possibility.)
You may be right about certain anonymous monks possibly thinking they don't have a high enough degree of Perl mastered, or are afraid of getting their questions beaten down by s/anyone/everyone , and thus they decide just not to register, or even log in (if already registered.)
Of course, some people want to register just so they can get really high XP points, while having a lot of those doesn't make you that much smarter in Perl than the next person, it is more of just a little game. (It of course is decided by who is around here more often and posting more stuff sometimes.)
I think that with this question, the same people that just want to have an answer to a quick Perl question answered fast, without having to log in, or worry about other variables, like being flamed, etc.
Over all, I really doubt that those who already practice the arts of being an anonymous monk will really stop doing that and register. Then again, maybe they didn't want to help out this community in the first place, and perhaps aren't necessary.
That's just my opinion ^^;
