Escaping the @ might let you get further and a one-liner can span more than one line :-)

$ perl -Mstrict -Mwarnings -E '
my $text = <<'EOT';
some text
fred\@bloggs.com
EOT
say $text;'
some text
fred@bloggs.com
$
[download]
