Indeed, that aspect isn't covered in this documentation. It is not uncommon for mailing lists (especially high volume/technical ones) to be moderated in this fashion. If I get time this evening I'll submit changes to this documentation clarifying usage and what to expect.

So when I send a message to perlbug@, I get an immediate reply, but when I send one to perl-thanks@ I get nothing. In any case it would be awesome to add some explanation. RT 120812	[reply]

++ Thanks marto As to redundant/overkill; Maybe so, but I think that a page like that would bode well for Perl's image -- popularity, PR, etc (not to insinuate to the contrary), and how would making people feel good, be a bad thing. :) The page would just be impressive, too.
