I'm currently a full time student at the University of Phoenix in the BSIT Software Engineering program. I am also a member of The Linux Foundation and a member of the East Bay Linux Users Group. I use and promote the use of Linux and open source technologies. I have experience with HTML, CSS, PHP, Javascript, C++ and Java. I am learning Perl first as a precondition to a great job opportunity proposed through my linux user group, two because I really enjoy learning and three because I enjoy coding. While I have no preconceptions of what I will learn from Perl or how to use it, PerlMonks came highly recommended through a LinkedIN group "Linux Mentors" from an individual named Lee Crites. Lee is a knowledgeable and friendly individual who has been very professional and helpful. As I learn more about Perl and continue to utilize the resources on this site, I look forward to making acquaintances and becoming a part of the Perl learning and practicing community.
