URI::URL Module

n3tb0y has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Hello Guys, Does anybody know faster module for parsing URL's. I have a 1.5 million lines and URI:URL module is causing me extra 1.5 minutes during parsing which I can not afford. My target is to extract netloc from each URL in that 1.5 million line. Just netloc is ok. For example , Assume URL is bellow : http://www.perlmonks.org/node=Seekers%20of%20Perl%20Wisdom#post I need to extract http://www.perlmonks.org from URL. Thanks in advance
