flgr has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Is there a way to beep using the pc speaker in perl? I know about print "\a" but I'd like to choose the frequency, too. And to make it even harder I'd like it to work without something external... (modules are ok, applications not)

Thanks.

check out Win32::Sound for windows. I don't know if there is anything similar for unix.

I'll try that one. Thank you. If somebody finds something better feel free to post, too. :)
