"twiggy --listen :5000" equivalent to "plackup -s Twiggy -p 5000"?

xtpu2 has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Sorry for the very simple / stupid question, but the Twiggy and Plack docs just aren't very detailed.

Does this shell command:

twiggy --listen :5000 app.psgi

Do the same thing as this shell command?

plackup -s Twiggy -p 5000 app.psgi

I've tested, both work and produce the same results on my system. What I'm asking, I guess, is how each of those works internally and whether one is recommended over the other.

Have you looked at the source code of the `twiggy` command in twiggy? (or, when a newer version is released via http://search.cpan.org/dist/Twiggy/script/twiggy) That source code strongly suggests that the two are similar in functionality.	[reply] [d/l]

They do the same thing. Compare https://metacpan.org/source/MIYAGAWA/Twiggy-0.1024/script/twiggy and https://metacpan.org/source/MIYAGAWA/Plack-1.0030/script/plackup. I prefer the plackup version as it makes it clearer that you can e.g. enable Plack middleware from the command-line, but offhand I'd say it's mostly a matter of taste.	[reply]
