Let the db do it: cf order by .... in the documentation for your flavor of SQL.

If you read the question they state that existing code they have runs a query for one value, and ask how to execute this for an array of values, how is that "off topic"? They also don't mention the phrase "doesn't work", so I'm not sure why you've added that section. I notice you have not moderated the post suggesting that code tags be added. Update: replace . with ?
