Monks have given 30 upvotes and zero significant downvotes to my OP. Please explain (perhaps to yourself; I'm not going to post further in this thread) the disconnect between your words and what the voting suggests.

¹ Do you believe in God? Are you an atheist? Agnostic? Refuse to speak up? No matter your response, someone could justify ridiculing you (because believing in God is ridiculous, or not believing in God is ridiculous, or whatever). Having a rationalization for doing something doesn't necessarily justify doing it.
