mark4444az has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

I am trying to make a simple line chart using Spreadsheet::WriteExcel. It works great as long as the column range and row are known values, like  values=> '=Sheet1!$B$3:$B$258',. I did a search on the perl monks site and came up with this:
$chart->add_series( categories => '=Sheet1!$B$1:$E$1', values => "=Sheet1!\$B\$$variable:\$E\$$variable" );
For my app the columns are the variable and I haven't been able to properly transpose the above code to make the columns variable. I have read that in some instances you can simply use numbers for row and column but that also does not work. Ideally I need something like this:
$chart1->add_series ( values => "=Sheet1!\$B$6:\$$column_count$6", name => 'Test data series 1', );
I know the starting point is B6, and the ending point for the chart is going to be $column_count$6 but nothing I have tried seems to work and I'm basically guessing at this point. Can anyone help?
