vter has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Venerable Monks,

I've got a pearl TK application that has a text box. I don't want the user to be able to edit the text, but I want them to be able to select text in the box. I also have control-g and control-f bound to do 'goto' and 'find' functions in the text box.

I've tried setting the -state to 'disabled' after the text box is populated, but then the bindings for control-g & control-f don't work.

Thanks.

Thanks RonW, will check it out.

Kind of surprised I didn't find that in my searching.
