It is understandable not to spend votes thank-you/summary type of nodes (like the case here), but the votes are never wasted on good nodes

    Fair enough, but I prefer to give votes to nodes by people who can benefit from it (especially newer Monks.)

    You must always remember that the primary goal is to drain the swamp even when you are hip-deep in alligators.

      People don't get paid for getting lots of votes, you know :-)

      The real beneficiary of an upvote isn't the person who posted the content, it's people *reading* the content, especially people who are less knowledgeable and need pointers to the best content in a thread. Please, upvote good content from Anonymonks.

        That would work if votes were always visible but they are not.

        In order to see some node reputation you have to vote on it first, and in that way they are mostly useless for newbies as a way to discern good and bad answers.
