Module to resample (reduce data points)?

sedusedan has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Quick question guys: what CPAN module should I use to resample (reduce data points)? Say I have 1000 numbers and I want to graph it on a 80-column terminal. The graph should retain the shape of the original. Tried these keywords to no avail: sample, resample, reduce.

PDL is the module to do numerical analysis in Perl. Check out its PDL::Interpolate.	[reply]
