Could you elaborate on why you think people would appreciate receiving a boilerplate response?

Wow. As if such a hateful reply with such a wholly inappropriate tone weren't already completely unacceptable, it's posted by a power user, janitor and Perlmonks developer of all people? Is this what Perlmonks stands for, is this the kind of community y'all here want to foster? I hope not; I've only been here for a short while, but if this is what passes for acceptable behavior in the Monastery, I want no part of it. And how ironic that you wrote this right after I said, in a node further up above, that "[t]he actions and words of the monks reflect on the entire Monastery, and - in turn - on Perl itself. We want to foster a community of helpfulness and friendliness, and the best thing we can do to achieve that is to be helpful and friendly ourselves". Get out, tye. I don't wish to speak to you again.
