This morning IE8 won't connect to perlmonks.com. At work we are using IE 8 and it has been working to connect to perlmonks.com. Has something changed?

I can connect with Google Chrome on the same machine but I prefer to just use one browser for everything so it must be IE8. I can still connect via IE8 to perlmonks.org.

Update: Before someone asks, it was just timing out, there were no browser errors shown. Now it is working again.

Are you sure that this isn't a network issue? It works fine from IE8 here. Do all of your browsers have the same network configuration?

It probably was a network issue here. I'm locked out of looking at the proxy settings so I don't know about that.

I'll wait a couple of days next time before reporting anything here. If my company blocks a site they display a warning that the site was blocked.

Locked out of proxy settings? Just download the script yourself and look at it. That's what i did here. :)

For what it's worth, I don't use IE8 here, and I was going to experiment for a few more days before reporting this problem. But have had problems connecting to perlmonks.org for quite some time. It turns out that there are 3 unique IP addresses served out by the DNS servers for perlmonks.org. When I hard code my local machines to only use 66.39.54.27 for perlmonks.org, all the problems go away and the speed is quite acceptable. I haven't yet gone back to see which of the other two machines is causing the problem.

It would be very informative if you found that solved the problem for you too.
