Actually, it's not that bad. At a previous job I was working with flat files with several hundred columns. This script is just dusty and a bit long and tedious. I could fix it. However, I would need to know the format spec (which fields are to be changed, where they belong) and have some data to test. But this is what consultants get highly paid for and the requirements are not met anyway so I am not going to try. This is not academical anyway and PM is not a code writing service. holli You can lead your users to water, but alas, you cannot drown them.	[reply] [d/l]
