So how many times do we need to discuss this and how many times need the gods to intervene?

Re^8: Perl 6: From Regular Expressions to Grammars, Part 4 (board politics)

Imagine you are running a restaurant and I pass by regularly and start a vocal discussion if coloured people should be served here or women deserve equal pay.

Do you think these discussions will make them feel welcomed and benefit the restaurant?

Do you think constantly appeasing an aggressor who is questioning free speech benefits free speech?

Do you think other's will continue to value the authority of the gods?

I'm starting to have nostalgic feelings about tye's more clinical approach to authority.

DISCLAIMER: I'm neither coloured°, female nor Perl6-ish.

And I'm not frustrated!

I'm just very aware of the Bolshevik method to sabotage a parliament with procedural tricks.

Cheers Rolf

I'm not speaking as a member of gods, but I think this example could derail the discussion. Programming language is not an intrinsic characteristic of a person; it can't be a protected category.

We are a programmer s board, our topics define our virtual persona.

In other words we can't exclude anyone by real life attributes like sex or pigmentation inside this social system.

If you think this metaphor is too strong please replace it with a café and mobbing tea and mate drinkers.

The point is once you've decided to welcome these people you can't accept questioning them over and over again.

Otherwise you are sabotaging your own "decision" and insulting the clientele.

      Cheers Rolf

    Ouch. Care to elaborate?

I really don't want to analyze the characters of people here, especially in my limited English.

Just that much: His reaction to people constantly crossing borders were more Dirty Harry than Mahatma Gandhi.

      > Ouch

      Why?

        Why?

You say you're "nostalgic" for his approach, it implies that you're not so happy with the way things are going nowadays. Which of course I might take a little personally.
