in thread Sub set where all are connected

On that tangent, I explored the fallout shelters at my University—nearby the National Weapon Laboratories so a first strike target—a few times. There were barrels and barrels stacked to the ceiling and down long halls that said “Water” and “Crackers” or something like that. I walked along them one night rapping them with knuckles. They were all empty. :P Still, we probably could have survived on underclassmen and TAs for months.

Some of the research stuff is still there but the Sandia Labs are in Albuquerque where I did university. I’ll tell you my Los Alamos story offline another time if I haven’t already. :P

Helping Dick Feynman cracking safes? ;)

        OK better in private.

Well, I grew up in Fulda which was supposed to be the very first victim of a hot war.

"In the Fulda Gap, these two armies would have clashed in one of the largest tank battles ever recorded,"

NATO knew that they didn't have enough tanks, so the strategic planing was to "block" any further advance with tactical nukes and gas.
