Library not loaded

wmfs has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:

Running a perl module containing use GD, fails with Library not loaded: /usr/local/opt/jpeg/lib/libjpeg.9.dylib

Searching the internet indicates this. might be a Homebrew issue; https://looselytyped.com/blog/2017/08/13/dyld-library-not-loaded-error/ gives a method to resolve the issue, which I executed:

I guess you need not only to install the library, but also install its development package (i.e. header files) and reinstall GD to link against it. `map{substr$_->[0],$_->[1]\|\|0,1}[\\|\|{},3],[[]],[ref qr-1,-,-1],[{}],[sub{}^ARGV,3]`	[reply] [d/l]

This error was reported under macOS 10.14.6. My solution was: 1 remove Perl module GD (see https://www.perl.com/article/3/2013/3/27/How-to-cleanly-uninstall-a-Perl-module/) 2 Remove pkg-config - brew uninstall pkg-config 3 Remove ImageMagick - brew uninstall ImageMagick 4 Finally delete HomeBrew - /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/uninstall.sh)" This gave a me a "clean" system, to allow me to reinstall HomeBrew, pkg-config and finally add Perl module GD with cpan. I was unable to sucessfully reeinstall ImageMagick via HomeBrew, but had more luck using MacPorts.	[reply]
