LloydRice has asked for the wisdom of the Perl Monks concerning the following question:
I am trying to install a model called "Imager". The cpanm site provides much info on the package, including that the package has recently been upgraded. I downloaded a tar.gz and also unzipped that to get the .tar. However, I first tried loading it directly from cpanm:
cpanm Module::Imager | Finding Module::Imager on cpanmetadb failed. | Finding Module::Imager () on mirror http://www.cpan.org failed. | Couldn't find module or a distribution Module::Imager
Next, I tried installing from the local copy I had downloaded: The online writeup at Strawberry says that I should try this:
perl Makefile.pl --libpath=c:\downloads\perl\imager\Imager=1.012.tar.g +z
Perl says it cannot find an executable called "Makefile.pl". I looked around and found the following ...
\Strawberry\perl\vendor\lib\Mojolicious\Command\generate\makefile.pm
Is this the same thing? Should I try to run that directly? What am I doing wrong?
