It's very timely as well as I have just got a PAUSE account and I'm sure it won't be long before I start to package up a module for CPAN. I will, of course, seek the wisdom of the Monastery at this auspicious occasion.

There are several prolific and long-standing CPAN authors that frequent this site who will be happy to go over your code, as well as your entire distribution in detail before your first upload, to provide you with any advice or recommendations that may be beneficial.
