Nested needless quotes. I think we're breaking new ground here!

Sorry, not even close. While the recent "anonymous" SunnyD significantly toned down the extravagant typography and unnecessary quotes - even switching from “these” quotes to "these" ones - the 2014 incarnation employed them much more liberally. As evidence, I present a short reply, Re^2: At the risk of saying something stupid-but-obvious about Roman Numerals, where "nested 'needless' quotes" were employed twice in a single paragraph, as in:
      • “what, if anything-at-all, did ‘Roman Numerals’ ever really have to do with this?”
      • “why ‘Roman Numerals?’”
which even drew uncharacteristic praise from BrowserUk:
At last, something at which you excel. You excel at "saying something stupid".

        ... the 2014 incarnation ...

All things "old" are "new 'again'" (albeit anonymous™).

      So hear me out people:

The Saucer People . . . in cooperation with the Reverse Vampires and trolls, are overusing up all the punctuation on the intertubes in an attempt to run the supply out. Everyone will have to go full e.e. cummings. </Millhouse>

      The cake is a lie.
      The cake is a lie.
      The cake is a lie.

It’s the old Quote Squeeze. The major publishers and lexicons will attempt to block us but if we HODL and demand punctual, har-har, delivery, we will win!
