As announced at dev.to, another Perl service is about to shut down. Will any volunteers stand up to take it over?

Among the reasons the author gives is that metaCPAN does the job now ... why duplicate?

The way forward always starts with a minimal test.

There are 2 killer features on CPANdeps which are missing from the MetaCPAN system. The first, as clearly acknowledged in the linked blog post, is the test result data. The second, apparently unmentioned, is the ability to restrict the results by O/S.

If/when the MetaCPAN dependency system provides both of these it will be a fine replacement, but it is assuredly not there yet.

      🦛

        IIRC Patches welcome

For those interested, the site has found a new home and is no longer being retired.

But third, and most importantly, the employer that I left over a year ago are withdrawing the free hosting.

It's not about the money. It's about the money.
