"again" what? I called you neither pompous nor an ass. I simply pointed out that you are among the last people who should be harassing Bod or anyone over the quality of their posts. (Ranking the Saints by XP Efficiency)

LanX, I expect you're well-satisfied to make the top 50 ... and proud of being a full three spots ahead of your hero sundialsvc4. Sorry, but any list of top 50 all time monks that has eyepopslikeamosquito in third place has no credibility. As if that were not enough, the inexplicable appearance of sundialsvc4 in the top 50 had me checking if the date of the post was early April. I was further surprised by the non-appearance of PM legends Erudil and brian_d_foy. While Erudil only made 13 posts, they all garnered over 100 XP, their current node reps being: 793, 667, 415, 373, 320, 225, 211, 210, 205, 159, 144, 116, 104. Hi, Sorry, but any list of top 50 all time monks that has eyepopslikeamosquito in third place has no credibility. The script run posted above deliberately excluded non-active monks and low-posting monks, to produce as close to accurate a picture as possible of those who are here and active now. Here are the top 20 plus Lanx and eyepopslikeamosquito, without limit on posts or recent activity:
I'd be very interested to hear your theory on how such low-posting monks achieved such heights of XP and sainthood. Votebot? Login-bot?

Actually I was feeling bad for Ikegami. On the other hand ... > was further surprised by the non-appearance of PM legends ... Look at the parameters, this was designed to show the author much higher than me. But there is still a good side, I'm totally impressed by FunkyMonk. He stopped posting 9 years ago, but steadily continued climbing the XPs. This man is a voting machine. .. xD

Here some "alternative" facts: ²
Let's put this into relation with your alleged "top-monk" (which I respect nevertheless)
But well ... this doesn't prove that I'm not saying foolish things from time to time ... So please show me those threads where I stated anything like ... > "That really shouldn't be allowed" ... without giving plenty of evidence, links and even example code? I think I also tend to reply to every new argument without resorting to a cheap "you know I'm kidding" According to your "statistic" this should be an easy game ...
Cheers Rolf °) eyepopslikeamosquito can tell you more about it. Ask yourself, how comes 30% of the top 20 saints haven't been here for years without loosing rank?
updateAnd one also gets XP for voting, which makes it even more complicated. ²) NB: this isn't adjusted to the deflation over the years, because that's not easily done. But it was always consensus that "XP is only a game" anyway. ³) he barely passed your 1000 posts minimum, because he has only 10% of my volume. But if you look at my 54th best post you'll see a reputation of 40 and his 506th only at 16. For more How to Lie with Statistics | [reply] |

the voting average is deflating over the yearsThanks for the reminder! I'd totally forgotten to update my Best Nodes stats over time for a while. Just updated it now and see the current Best Nodes of the Year range is 40-57. While a best node rep of 57 (for Announcing Perl 7) is outstanding, I see the next best node is only 47 ... so we are in danger of the Best Node of Year dropping below 50 for the first time ever! This is an emergency because Announcing Perl 7 expires next month, on June 24 2021. Oh, and I see the lowest node at Best Nodes of the Year has never dropped below 40 before, so the two lowest Best Nodes of the Year could also use an upvote or two. ;-) I also keep a (scrappy) list of similar nodes at: Re: Perl Monks in numbers? | [reply] |
