FYI: first search results page just showed me "Press <Next> to continue searching remaining 707.00% of DB." In case it's relevant, this was a search for all of qw{ dump opaque object } in any text. The next page showed something more reasonable (remaining 89.4%, or somesuch).

I also saw it again from time to time, but it's hard to reproduce:

The perceived "weirdness" was by design.

The upper percentage is only indicating the current search-span, not the sum of all already searched nodes.

That's how the numbers here have to be interpreted:

4.01% + 7.80% + 88.18% == 100%

(modulo rounding error)

It was always like this, so no reason to complain! =)
