Cloaking is a term for being logged in incognito. I.e. your name doesn't show up in other users.

IIRC it was meant to protect monks from getting problems when being active during work hours. (And other privacy concerns)

Your name (= link to homenode) on the top right will be preceded by a # and the [talk] button in the CB will be renamed [decloak]

The easiest way to stop this is to log in normally.

For details see Logging on to PerlMonks

Anyway, if you don't know cloaking it's highly unlikely that you are cloaked.

You are correct. I always login normally, so cloaking is not an issue in this case. My search continues for why this has happened.

So, do you still have no votes?

See When do I get my votes?

... The vote fairy is a little forgetful though; occasionally someone is overlooked and doesn't get their votes or bonuses for the day...Be patient; you'll get your votes soon enough, usually within twenty-four hours, and almost certainly within forty-eight. We've never heard of the vote fairy forgetting anyone two days in a row, but you never know. :-)

I have my votes again. The vote fairy did take a two day hiatus on my account, but if it only happens once every 19 years I can live with that. :)
