in thread Please unconsider

I just tested with the help of Athanasius++, if the original author is messaged if his node is considered. Apparently not.

I've seen many edit-considerations including the text "author messaged", maybe it could be an idea to automatically message any non-anonymous author, if the consideration includes the word /^\s*edit/i at the beginning.

(yes relying on text recognition is fuzzy, but otherwise we'd need to extend the form, and that's a practical and fast solution. see also Re: Please unconsider )

I think the point is to message the author before the consideration process, and only resort to janitation if the author fails.

This might be the point of the OP but I don't see a reasonable way to implement this.

Implement what? We already have a way to msg a writeup's author.
