I was introduced to semantic versioning at another London PM event - an emergency social for Michael Schwern about 10 years ago. I asked the assembly what they would change about CPAN if they had a time machine (or something along those lines) and got the answer "Semantic Versioning", I forget from whom. No-one contradicted this. I have Excel modules I want to control in the same way, so I have stuck to semver ever since. Thanks for all the references, by the way. They are most helpful.
