Does Fedora really come with such an outdated version of Perl? I think OP should open a ticket (category: security), because that's grossly negligent to distribute a software version that HAS known, unfixed security problems and has been out of maintenance for nearly a decade. https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Security_Bugs#Reporting_a_Security_Vulnerability PerlMonks XP is useless? No, it comes with a modern Perl. Ferdora 38 (which Sainathuni claims to be using) comes with 5.36.1. I don't know why anyone would choose to run 5.16 on such an modern O/S. Perhaps Sainathuni is simply mistaken. 🦛	[reply]

Yes, it's my bad. The perl version got swapped. new Linux server with Fedora 38 Operating system has Perl version 5.36.0; old Linux server Centos Operating System has perl version 5.16.3	[reply]
