I think it would be really good for new users to have a prominent link to basic syntax for posting. It could be like a mini-faq that has the most common things people might want to use. It would be very helpful. This site can be challenging when new.

    There's documentation of the allowed syntax immediately below the textarea box for posting, with a list of tags and a link to further doc.


    The way forward always starts with a minimal test.
      Ah. That's actually very nice and probably more than sufficient. I guess I forgot about that.

      I was actually thinking of having it as one of the items in the header at the top, but as noted above, the info below the posting text area is probably enough. Plus there is already the "Need Help??" link at the top which can probably answer about anything. Sorry for the distraction.
