Can I get a copy of all the PerlMonks content?

Short answer: No.

Not so short answer: No. However, all the publicly visible data is already available, on a node-by-node (or thread-by-thread) basis. Depending on what you want to do, you might be satisfied with the existing internal or external search mechanisms. Or, you could build a spider to retrieve as much content as you want and save it for your own use. But there are two very important points to keep in mind:

  1. We do not allow the redistribution of any content homed at PerlMonks. Exception: Each author owns their own contributions and can do with it what they please.
  2. Automated retrieval mechanisms (spiders) must throttle their accesses to PerlMonks so as to not overload the servers. Any bot found to be violating this rule will be blocked.
