I don't know why that would happen because when pasted into my zsh on macos all these slashes magically appear:

That's impressed me! I'm connecting to a Mac at work through ssh in a Linux terminal which doesn't add any backslashes. `map{substr$_->[0],$_->[1]\|\|0,1}[\\|\|{},3],[[]],[ref qr-1,-,-1],[{}],[sub{}^ARGV,3]`	[reply] [d/l]

Sorry I meant to say that, at current numbers, Apple is adding about 24 million Macs with 48 million copies of Perl to the world each year.
