... add the output [of] 'recently sent' beneath Message Outbox

Done. It only shows messages sent within the past 24 hours, and limits the number to 5. Click 'Recently sent' if you want to see more.

      Fixed.

I agree. Expanding the message would give me the comfort that i didn't mess up the link (which i tend to do, which is incidentaly why i love the preview function when doing a writeup).

I just noticed something else that's a bit confusing, at least for me(*): When sending via Message Outbox, the only way to see if the message was actually sent is by scrolling down and looking for the "recently sent" lines in the chatterbox nodelet.

Any chance this could show a generic "Message sent" status below the "Deliver" button?

(*) I'm so used to how my own web software always gives me feedback after sending a form. Even when editing some master data entries: Select line from table, which opens the detailed view. When you submit it, it reloads the same detail view in a very short time. For a brief interval, a green text appears near the top of the page, telling you that the updated was accepted. Yes, it's a bit tacky. It's the equivalent of a keyboard button lighting up to show that you have pressed the button. I mean, childish yes, but that's basically what phones and gaming keyboards do. So why not a webpage? "more feedback is more better", i think

    That's cool thanks. :)

FWIW: the messages are shown in the Chatterbox Nodelet not the Message Outbox¹

For those interested to test, just /msg yourself 6 times

    Update

¹) But I think that's a clever compromise, between full features and ease of implementation!

    Thanks 😁

tbh, I missed that you said 'message outbox'; I had Chatterbox on the brain. Anyway, I think my solution is actually better than putting it in Message Outbox.

        > think my solution is actually better

        Hmm, both have benefits.

The Message Outbox could show both sides (sent and received) of the dialog of the last 24h for one recipient, like in current chat apps.

        I had a demo here

The CB is actually showing sent messages for all recipients.

Since one can send messages from both boxes, it makes sense to show them in both.

But the CB is certainly more prominent, so good call to at least implement it there. 👍🏻
